Pink rock salt from Bolivia comes from a deposit several million years old, naturally protected by the igneous rock of the Andes Mountains. Thus, salt is still mined by hand at an altitude exceeding 3,000 meters. Its characteristic pink color is due to the high proportion of trace iron. In addition, this salt is rich in calcium, potassium and magnesium.

Andean pink salt has a very salty, intense taste, but does not sting the tongue. It goes perfectly with red meat, it is suitable for flavoring grilled meat or meat roasts, fatty sea fish or dishes with sauce. It also works surprisingly well on tender vegetables and fresh tomatoes. The taste of Andean pink salt on baked mackerel is interesting. We recommend salting with freshly ground salt just before serving.
